Who is social consumer?


Have you wonder who is the target market of online group buying? Marketers are smart nowadays. They tend to target social consumer. Why are they present in the market nowadays? This is because the rapid change of the web and its uses has given us the social consumer. For comparison, the old style of consumer would make a buying decision by considering the brands available and looking at the good and bad based on the information provided from the advertiser to the products. Word-of-mouth might be one of the factors to influence their decision too.

Basically, they are someone who consults those they trust, through their social networks before making a buying decision. Other than that, they learns about new products through social channels and networks. They are now checking into businesses, fusing online and offline engagement and influencing behavior and decisions in the process. And now, social consumers expect to be rewarded for their role in the socialization of one particular brand.
