Poll analysis (Week 8)

This is the poll question that we set for last week. There are total of 10 persons who has participated in this poll. Besides that, we got 7 options for them to vote for the poll of our blog. Out of the 10 person, there are 2 people has vote to the payment method. Another 2 person think that they don't trust online buying sites as the reason to hold back them to do online shopping. Other than that, there are 4 people think that security, privacy and delivery will be factors that affect them to buy good in online group buying sites. One people think that it's important to see the goods before they buy. Moreover, no votes for the buy things in online and online retailers won't generally deliver to my house. The last person has choose others as the reason to hold back his or her shopping in online sites. 

Live blogging session

On the 24 of March 2012, all the us were having a live blogging session. The purpose of having this is to interact with our readers instantly. We have been writing  all the post and promote our blog all this while. So we think that it will be good if we interact with them once in a while because they can always ask us any question about our blog or even about our contest.

Our live blogging session starts at 1pm to 3pm on that day. Surprisingly there are quite a number of people has ask us different question in our chatbox. Three of us answer their question immediately once they posted in our chatbox. Most of them are unclear about our contest so we are trying to make them clear about how can they join the contest.

We were happy to answer their questions one by one. This can gain the trust and support from them because they are clear about everything that we do in our blog. Lastly, we would like to have another round of live blogging session with our readers if we got the chance to do so.

Rules and Regulations

ORGANISER AND ELIGIBILITY

1. This Contest is organised by a group of students from Inti College Subang Jaya and is open to all Malaysian residents that live in Klang Valley.
2. The following groups of persons shall not be eligible to participate in this Contest: Organiser (including other groups that are related to this subject matter)

DURATION

This Contest will run from 26 March to 31 March, 2012. The Organiser shall reserve the right to amend the contest Period at any time without prior notice. All entries received outside the Contest Period will be automatically disqualified.

Who is social consumer?

Have you wonder who is the target market of online group buying? Marketers are smart nowadays. They tend to target social consumer. Why are they present in the market nowadays? This is because the rapid change of the web and its uses has given us the social consumer. For comparison, the old style of consumer would make a buying decision by considering the brands available and looking at the good and bad based on the information provided from the advertiser to the products. Word-of-mouth might be one of the factors to influence their decision too.

團購的程序 (podcast)

大家好！今天我要在這和你們分享團購的程序。有一部分的人應該還不是很了解團購的意思，所以我相信他們也可能不知道該如何團購。以下是我終結起來的步驟，聼了之後你們就會明白該如何購買超值的物品和服務。

第一： 瀏覽一些團購的網站。

尋找你們所要的物品或者是服務以滿足你的需求。此外，你也必須注意該公司的條款和條件。

第二：註冊一個屬於你的戶口

這個是方便該公司記錄下你的個人資料如姓名，地址，電話等等。

第三：付款方法

團購公司都是以網上付款來交易。這是因爲要方便大衆，讓他們可以舒舒服服的在家裏享受購物的樂趣。這不像傳統的購物方式以一手交錢，一手交貨來進行了。大家可以使用網上轉帳或者是信用卡來進行交易。是不是很方便？

最後大家只需要把所購買的優惠卷給打印出來，然後就可以享用其優惠。簡單吧！

Hello everyone! I'm here to share with you about the procedures of online group buying today. Minority of you don't know what is online group buying, so i believe that they might not knowing how to shop for online group buying. The following are the steps that I have conclude, you will be clear to get the valuable goods and services  after hearing this from me.


1. Surf some of the online group buying sites
Search for the goods or services to satisfy your need. Other than that, you need to look at the company's rules and regulation too. 


2. Sign up your own account
This helps the company to save your personal details like your name, address, contact etc.


3. Payment method
Those online group buying company deal via online payment. This is convenient to all the people out there, because they can relax at home and enjoy shopping. It is not like the tradition way of doing business by cash on delivery. Everyone can use online transaction or even credit card to make the payment. Isn't it convenient? 


Lastly, you guys just need to print out the coupon and enjoy the deal. That simple!

Poll analysis (week 2)

As for the result of our poll question this week, we've come out with a pie chart. The poll question is How do you know the latest deals in online group buying websites and there are 4 options for them to choose. The options are through email, through visit the site, through phone and through social networking sites. The reason why we prepare this poll question because we wanted to know how and where the readers get to know about the latest deals from online group buying sites. 

The results show that there are only 10 readers who participated in our poll. According to the pie chart shown above, most of them know the deals through email because 4 out of 10 readers vote for this. The remaining 6 readers are equally vote for visit the site and social networking sites. For those who choose to visit the sites to get updated deals means they might be the regular customers of online group buying. Other than that, the rest of them might looking around to search for good deals. 

The procedures of online group buying

When we are buying any stuff out there, it is just require simple steps which you can just pay and go. As for online group buying, the buying process might be slightly different when compare to normal buying process.


1. View the deals that  you are interested from any online group buying sites.
- This is the time when you get to know what you will get from the good deals with the affordable price. Other than that, you need to know how long do the deals is going on and the redemption period. Do check the requirements and rules carefully.


2. Sign up an account.
- You need to sign up an account for yourself in order to purchase deals from any of the online group buying sites. This step is pretty simple because you just need to fill in your personal details and get started to buy!


3. Proceed to the payment.
- At this stage, you need to choose your payment method. For online group buying, you need to make sure that your bank account can do online transfer or you may have credit card and debit card to make the payment.Moreover, you need to make sure the details of your bank must be correct. 


4. Print the coupon out.
- The final step of the buying process is print out the coupon of the deal and you can now enjoy the deals that you have purchase.

The Disadvantages of using Online Group Buying

There is always a good side and a bad side of a products or services. Online Group Buying like Groupon, WeBuy or even Everyday are good but there have their disadvantages for the company who are using it.

a)It attract low-end bargain seekers:

This is because their customers mainly comes from bargain shoppers so there are low rates of spending and low rates of return.

b)It don't generate repeat customers: 

For online group buying, you will hardly get repeat customers keep buying the deal again. They may never buy from you again without a coupon on hand. So it is mostly varies by product categories.

c)The deals are not profitable:

Normally these company will keep 50% of the revenues from each coupon deal. However for those normal company are keeping 75% of the revenues, so whenever the customer buy the deal, the company gonna loose money.

d)Deals hurts the brand:

For this, it is not building up the brand loyalty and brand awareness for all the brands because the obsession with price. Besides that, it makes customer price sensitive because they tend to pay low prices for certain products or services and become inclined to pay full price for the same item again.
